Her family had hoped and prayed for a week that their “it girl” would be found alive. They believed Nailah Franklin’s feisty, fighting spirit would give her the strength to make it through whatever circumstances were keeping her from them.

In the meantime, they kept busy, posting thousands of fliers around Chicago and making television appearances nightly until her smiling face was known nationwide.

But those hopes were dashed Friday when authorities identified a body found in Calumet City as that of Franklin, 28, a pharmaceutical representative reported missing Sept. 19.

A new report has revealed that Nailah Franklin’s family has not yet identified the body authorities found - therefore it is NOT confirmed that the body found is that of Nailah Franklin.

UPDATE: According to a local Chicago reporter, the family of Nailah Franklin has claimed they were misquoted and the uncle who the AP claimed confirmed Nailah’s death has denied ever saying anything. The AP retracted that story. The family has not yet viewed or identified the body authorities found.

Nailah Franklin, 28, sister of comedian Marina Franklin (Last Comic Standing 2) has been missing since September 18. Franklin’s 2005 Chevy Impala was found in Hammond, IN Saturday. Family and friends have been passing out flyers asking for help to find her. A few days before Franklin’s disappearance, she had reported to the police that she had received death threats from man she used to date.

The test results are in: A court-ordered DNA test has proved that Chris Rock is not the father of a 13 year-old boy, whose mother Kali Bowyer sued Rock earlier this year for child support and medical coverage. The mother is disputing the test results and plans to ask the judge to order another DNA test.

Our spies tell us that last Friday, Greg Giraldo went over his time during a primetime show at the Comedy Cellar when he spotted Robin Williams in the club. Our sources say that Giraldo, who was performing new material switched to his “familiar” jokes when he saw the actor-comedian in the room. Williams was next to follow Giraldo. “Anytime, Estee (the club booker) walks toward the stage, you know it’s time for you to go,” a source says.

We hear Williams waited patiently while Giraldo delivered an extended killer set.
